About copyright

The granting of licences for third parties to use any “image” (meaning creative work such as photographs, videos, animation or even contest and unique abstract ideas) is the basis for the business of any photographer and videographer. Any copyright infringement is illegal and may lead to immediate legal action.

Image usage terms

All of the images on this website are copyright property of OK George! Studio www.okgeorgestudio.com unless otherwise credited. All rights are reserved, and no usage or reproduction of any type may be made of any image and video taken by or copyright to OK George! Studio without the express permission of OK George! Studio representative George Karkour or one of his accredited agents.

Any usage is made under the following terms and conditions, and the use of any image, whether authorized or not, indicates a complete and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.

Any reproduction of any image, video or animation may only be made on payment of a licence or usage fee. This licence or usage fee must be agreed in advance and express permission granted before any reproduction.
The right to a credit is asserted In accordance with the Copyrights, Designs and Patents Act 1998, and every image reproduction must be adequately credited.
Any digital copies of any image must be deleted immediately, once any reproduction has first been made.
The right to object to derogatory treatment includes, but is not limited to the absolute right to object to the alteration or editing of any image. Consequently no alteration or editing of any image, other than cropping for publication, may be carried out without OK George! Studio’s express permission.
Any usage or licence fee applied to any unauthorized use of any image do not necessarily grant any rights for any continued usage of that image. OK George! Studio, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to charge a usage fee for any usage to date, and then also demand the immediate removal or deletion of any image, or the recall destruction of any publication including, but not limited to any brochures, leaflets magazines or advertisements. OK George! Studio will not be liable for any losses incurred through the enforcement of this clause in any way, and this clause does not limit or affect any of the conditions set out in this agreement.
Any image or video is used at your own risk. No warranty is offered or given or implied for any losses or costs of any nature, incurred by the usage of any image.This includes the costs, actions or losses of any third party for any reason whatsoever.
By using any image, in any way, whether authorized or unauthorized, the user warrants and agrees to indemnify OK George! Studio for any loss or damages, of any nature, incurred through the reproduction of that image. This includes, but is not limited to loss of reputation, loss of future work, any conflict with existing or potential image licences or existing or potential exclusivity or the the costs, actions or losses of any third party for any reason whatsoever.
From time to time, and at the sole discretion of OK George! Studio, these terms and conditions may change. The conditions that apply to any authorized use will be those in place at the time that the licence was granted. The continued use of any unauthorized image, indicates an acceptance of any revised terms and conditions, which will apply to the entire duration of any use.

Image download

By downloading any image or videos from OK George! Studio, both the Terms of Use and the legal requirements stated in the Copyright & Credits guidelines have been accepted by the above identified user.

If permission to download images has been given, no commercial transaction might derive from it, such as money exchange or re-sale. Any subsequent use, which has not been explicitly authorized by OK George! Studio and the photographer concerned, is forbidden. (This includes the storage of the image on any media for any purpose other than the above stated use and beyond the necessary production period. So no building of ‘offline archives’ with downloaded images or storing the image – or copies of it – on CD-ROM for later re-use! Any subsequent use of the image will require a fresh download from OK George! Studio with a freshly completed download request form.)

It is also understood that the image – or any copy of it – may not be given to any third party beyond the need for the above stated use. In particular the image may not, under any circumstances, be used for any commercial use outside a clearly defined and previously authorized OK George! Studio context.

Condition Breach

Any breach of these conditions will be considered a severe violation of the Terms of Use and of copyright law, for which the above user will bear full legal responsibility. In case of doubt please contact OK George! Studio

All images on this website are the property of OK George! Studio, unless otherwise properly credited or under exceptional circumstances.

Contractors & Freelancers working with OK George! Studio

Confidentiality Agreement: OK George! Studio proposes to pay the Employee to take/produce photos/video that are confidential and proprietary information (the “Confidential Information”). Confidential information shall include all photographs/video, data, materials, products, technology, financial information, and other information about OK George! Studio disclosed or submitted, orally, in writing, or by any other media, to the photographer. Any violation of this confidentiality agreement is subject to prosecution under the laws of the State of Quebec.
Obligations: Employee agrees that the Confidential Information is to be considered confidential and proprietary to OK George! Studio and shall not use the Confidential Information/Photographs/Video other than for the purposes of its business with OK George! Studio, and shall disclose it only to its employees or assistants that are involved with producing the images for the client with a specific need to know. Employee will not disclose, publish or otherwise reveal any of the Confidential Information/Photographs/Video taken to any other party whatsoever except with the specific prior written authorization. Confidential Information furnished in tangible form shall not be duplicated by Employee except for purposes of this Agreement. OK George! Studio reserves the right to use, recycle, sell, and distribute any photos, videos or creative ideas provided by all of its network of Employees.
Image use: Any type of usage of photos/videos on their public public portfolio website or otherwise and used by Employees, published or not, requires a written permission and clear production credits will be required. Additionally, should permission be granted, Employee can’t use images taken while working with OK George! Studio on their “commercial website”, (commercial meaning the “brand” is something other than the Employee’s name). For example, if Employee’s name is “John Smith” and his or her website is www.johnsmith.com, then this is considered a private portfolio and is accepted. However, if Employee’s “John Smith” portfolio operates under a company name like, for example “Smith Media” or “Umbrella Productions”, then the images are not permitted on such website for display of one’s work.
